The upgrade plan is in response to the increasing popularity of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, such as ChatGPT, which are already transforming our society and the way businesses function.

According to the Wall Street Journal article, Google is planning to introduce changes to its traditional format of how the search results had been presented for a long time – a page format that is widely known as “10 blue links.”

The changes will primarily be aimed at processing queries that cannot be easily managed by the traditional presentation of search results. Users will likely get new tools through which they will be able to have conversations with AI. The search output should also include more short video posts and social media content.

The results will also be presented in a “radically new” personalized fashion by improving how the search platform anticipates the needs of its users.

According to expert forecasts, the new features should be unveiled at the upcoming Google I/O developer conference, where the company is expected to unveil new features that allow users to interact with AI programs in new ways. This project is currently codenamed “Magi.”
