What does an antenna do?
Well here comes the role of an antenna which works as a modem which basically translates the digital signal to analog signal. So when we press the send button on our mobile phone the operating system performs a set of events and encrypt the data which is transformed into analog signals.

Hence, the phone decodes the data and your friend receives a familiar ping.
how does the cell tower recognize the Sender?
So you might have a question that how does the cell tower recognize that it’s you sending the message. Well while transferring the data the mobile phone also sends a unique piece of code to help it to differentiate.

The cell phone agrees on a protocol to send messages to the tower on different time, different Frequencies, different location, different codes so the cell tower is easily able to identify the sender of any particular message.
