The development of simple to use heart-rate monitors (HRM) has enabled both amateur and professional athletes to monitor their physical exertion during exercise.

Together with GPS, professional sports athletes including Premier League Football clubs, National Football Teams (Italy) can accurately evaluate, in real-time, the demands of the current exercise the athletes are engaged in.

The next generation of performance monitoring is focusing on the monitoring, evaluation and diagnosing of a professional athletes mental and emotional status in key moments.  This data will enable coaches and athletes to identify potential issues based on physical performance characteristics in real-time and enact predetermined resolutions to the stress.

At present, professional athletes can only monitor key physical properties indicative of emotional or physical stress within a laboratory environment. The objective of the current challenge is to identify smart wearables that can measure the following key parameters in a non-invasive environment.

Submissions to this Challenge must be received by Aug 17, 2023.
