This is an Ideation Challenge with a guaranteed award for at least one submitted solution.
Overview
Hydrogen can potentially be a clean-burning, portable, and lower-carbon, fuel of the future. Much research is currently focused on all aspects of the hydrogen economy, from production to transport to utilization.
The Carbon Management Research & Development Team at Aramco is exploring innovations to produce lower-carbon hydrogen from traditional hydrocarbon feedstocks cost-efficiently.
Many technologies including reforming catalysis, CO2 capture processes and materials, intensified process configurations, renewable energy integration, and hydrocarbon fed fuel cells are being researched and developed offering the potential for helping to lower the cost of lower-carbon hydrogen produced.
However, to achieve the goal of lower cost, lower-carbon hydrogen production, transformational and novel ideas for innovative technology concepts need to be further explored.
Aramco is seeking such ideas and concepts to help achieve its ambition of creating hydrogen at the cost of $0.80, with less than 4.3 kilograms of CO2 emitted for each kilogram of hydrogen produced.
Submissions to this Challenge must be received by 11:59 PM (US Eastern Time) on 03-Jul-2023.
