Microsoft revealed its new artificial intelligence-based office software features collectively named AI Copilot. For now, the testing opportunities of this new product are limited.
The announcement came just two days following a similar reveal from Google, where the competing company introduced functionality-wise similar features for its Google Docs system.
Microsoft demonstrated elements of its new AI Copilot for Microsoft 365. The product is now being tested in a limited environment, by around 20 selected enterprises.
New functions that come with this significant update are basically all related to automation. For example, AI is able to create document drafts in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Furthermore, it can also perform cross-application tasks according to a user’s written command.
Now, you will be able to control even spreadsheet creation using plain text descriptions. The only requirement is that you will need to be able to describe the type of calculations using words.
AI Copilot is also able to summarize virtual meetings – those that are organized using its Microsoft Teams software.
According to Microsoft’s comment, all this should speed up content creation and minimize the required employee time input.
